- May or June of your Junior year, AND
- October or November of your Senior year
How much does the SAT cost?
- The exam fee is $46 for exam without the essay; $60 for exam with the essay.
- If you receive free or reduced lunch, you qualify for a fee waiver that entitles you to TWO free exams. For this reason, it is important to submit a completed lunch form to your school at the beginning of the school year.
- If you qualify, ask your guidance counselor for a fee waiver BEFORE you register.
Where should I take the exam?
- If your school is not a test site, then you should register at the school that is closest and easiest for you to get to early on a Saturday morning.
- Before selecting a site, visit GoogleMaps for directions from your home to the site by subway and bus.
